Stefan told Damon that he was going to be locked up for the next fifty years. Damon uses his powers to lure Caroline to his chamber to release him. Damon kills Zach as soon as he got out. Caroline escaped by running into the daylight. Because Stefan had Damon’s ring, Damon couldn’t survive in the light. He waited until nighttime and attacked Vicki.

Stefan tried to earn back Elena’s trust by telling her more about himself and his past. Elena wasn’t convinced and did some investigation for herself. She watched black and white footage of an old crime scene and saw an un-aged Stefan. She put all her suspicions together and confronted Stefan.

At their car wash, Bonnie splashed a girl using her witch powers. She also started a fire in a trance which Stefan pulled her out of. Stefan promised her he wouldn’t tell anybody about what had happened. Bonnie went to her grandmother and asked her for help. Vicki stole Elena’s left over pain pills. Jeremy got mad at her, putting a strain on their relationship.
