Episode 22: Founder’s Day
It’s Founder’s Day, and everyone is ready floats and fireworks. Jeremy, who is still on Elena’s bad side after her lying, seek Anna’s company. Anna gives Jeremy a vial of her blood and offers him the choice of becoming a vampire.
Damon and Alaric team up to try to stop John Gilbert from utilizing the mysterious invention that kills vampires, but it is of no use. John still sets his plan in motion, leading to a chaotic, destructive, and deadly end to the Founder’s Day celebration. Meanwhile, Caroline is severely injured in a car accident involving Tyler. It is then suggested that Tyler and his father, the mayor may not be human. It is in also in episode 22 that John kills Anna and burns many of the tomb vampires alive. Tyler’s father is among the victims of the tomb. Stefan realizes that, despite everything Damon has done to him and Elena he is still his brother and that he loves him. Elena goes to John and confronts him with the knowledge that she knows he is her father. This is based on what Stefan told her. Bonnie then saves Stefan and Damon from John’s rampage for Elena’s sake but tells Stefan that if Damon kills another innocent person, she will not hesitate to take him down. Damon finally realizes that he is not all bad, and that he may actually want to become a better person. When Jeremy learns of Anna’s death, he drinks Anna’s blood and overdoses on pain pills. Jeremy hopes that his emotional pain will cease if he becomes a vampire. Damon kisses a person whom is supposedly Elena. This “Elena” enters the Gilbert house and murders John Gilbert but right before John dies, he recognizes her as Katherine, pretending to be Elena.
The season ends when Elena enters the house and goes towards the kitchen, where Katherine is.
What will happen next season? We can’t wait for more vampire diaries!!!
